We are especially proud of our Restorative/Post rehab Exercise Program that includes:Tai Chi for Arthritis & PACE. We work on balance, flexibility, strength, posture, and overall fitness. This specially designed program is suitable for those with arthritis, osteoporosis,f ibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, joint problems or replacement, other auto-immune disorders, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, etc. Sherry McCay, RN (certified through the Arthritis Foundation) & Chris Parsons, PT (certified through the Arthritis Foundation) facilitate the class; Ultimate Athletic Challenge boost your metabolism, burn calories, increase strength, proprioception, and endurance with this overall strength and sports conditioning class that uses circuit and interval training techniques. NO DANCE MOVES! Only agility drills, functional strength moves, integrated balance, reactive training, and more. We employ strength & cardio circuits using jump ropes, step, TRX www.fitnessanywhere.com(enter Sherry) & cable systems, weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, bosu, etc. Options always given to make the class easier or harder. Turbokicktm the most popular kickboxing program in the country-straight from Laguna Beach, California! Turbokick is a fun, safe and effective mixture of cardio kickboxing-interval training-strength conditioning choreographed to exciting music! Class begins with a sports specific warm-up, an advanced cardio section, using intensity intervals of kickboxing and increased tempo "sprints", followed by work-recovery segments. Sports Iron Yoga not your average yoga class! Excellent cross training class for Runners/walkers, along with all Athletes. Sherry has combined sports specific strengthening moves, pilates, yoga, tai chi, and martial arts all in one exciting never boring class! Weights, medicine balls, stability balls, tubing, dynabands, and steps are all put to use. You will achieve strength, sculpting, flexibility, balance, an anaerobic/aerobic challenge, and most of all core strength and stability. Try this one you won't believe what you can achieve! KICKBOXING & YOGA FUSION is a fusion of kickboxing and power yoga followed by yoga for flexibility.
ROPES & YOGA FUSION is a fusion of jump rope and power yoga followed for yoga for flexibility.
Interval Muscle is a non-stop, strength training class using high reps, low weight, cardio drills, and no rest!
We will lead you in this fast paced training program designed for maximum muscular endurance and maximum sculpting results. The program trains your heart and your muscles at the same.
Great for those needing to build bone mass.
Step Interval high intensity, low impact movement performed on and off the step. Class may include circuit training, stability balls, weights, tubing, TRX, jump ropes, and dynabands.
Run/Walk Clinic Have you always wanted to run but thought you couldn't? It is never too late! Meet members of all ages running for the first time in their lives. Young and older adults join together for a good time. Program meant to compliment the River City Runner's Club beginner's & 1/2 marathon clinics. Stretching follows every clinic.
Jab, Pump, & Jump pace yourself or go the limit! Intervals of cardio and muscle conditioning drills to firm you up and slim you down. We will lead you in this high energy muscle pumping, calorie crushing workout that incorporates jump rope, boxing, and weight lifting drills. Easy to follow and easily modified to all levels.
Insanitytm get ready to dig deeper than you ever have in your life! Do you have what it takes? This program alternates between explosive cardio drills, power and resistance moves, plyometrics, core and balance work that is one step from "impossibe". You'll experience first-hand the power of MAX INTERVAL TRAINING and what it will do for your body. Every 2 weeks a fitness test will be implemented in order to follow your progress. MAX SPORT'S CONDITIONING is just what it says! This one is tough!
Contact Kickboxing uses freestanding punching bags and gloves. Kickboxing drills along with muscle sculpting make this class a fun and fat burning class. Class requires pre-registration. Class participants are encouraged to purchase their own gloves. Jumpropes, hand weights, steps and bosu's may be used.
Kettlbell Training strengthen and sculpt the entire body using kettlebells. You will correctly and safely learn the basic kettlebell exercises and then advance into more complex combinations. Fun, challenging, and what a workout! If you are looking for something new and challenging this is the workout for you! Participants may bring their own kettlebells, however dumbbells may be used. Kettlebells & Ropes include up to 30 minutes of jump rope tabatas!!!!
Outdoor Fitness meets weekly at 7:30am at an area park. Sessions may include cardio, strength, speed, power, explosive-power training, agility training, endurance, hill training, balance training, flexibility, and more.... Alternate severe weather meeting location is at the gym. Follow the class schedule for updates and locations.
Teen Sport's Conditioning sport specific high intensity training! We will improve your sports skills and enhance your athletic performance through speed, agility, power, strength, and balance.
Female Athletic Training there is a significant increase in sport related injuries in female athletes as compared to males! Let's face it females can be just as good as males when it comes to sports! The problem is they cannot train using male programs. Females are built differently. They have unique body chemistry. We will assist in identifying structural issues, muscle instability, weakness& imbalances. We will develop a program specific to the female athlete to include proper landing, squatting, tracking of the knee, etc. Programs will include enduarance, speed, plyometrics, agility, power, strength, and balance. Programs will be sport specific, however will include total fitness.
